Traditional Veterans Service Organizations
There are over 100 VA-recognized, national Veterans Service Organizations (VSOs) and VA works most closely with the following organizations: The American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans, Paralyzed Veterans of America, AMVETS, and Vietnam Veterans of America. Navy Mutual provides non-profit, no-cost VSO services to all branches of the uniformed services, veterans, their families, and their survivors. Their VSO services include:
• Guidance on understanding what issues an individual is or is not eligible to claim
• Assistance with gathering evidence to support a disability or death benefit claim
• Claim monitoring and advocacy (through us or our partners) from initial claim up to and including the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims
