Jamey Cummings '93
North Texas Chapter Trustee
Jamey has spent the last 16 years in retained executive search. He currently serves as a Partner at JM Search where he co-leads the Firm’s Security Practice and is a member of the IT Executives and Technology Practices. Prior to joining JM Search, Jamey was a Senior Client Partner and core member of Korn Ferry’s Technology Officers Practice. During his tenure, he co-launched and co-led the firm’s Global Security Practice. He was also an active member of the firm’s Aviation, Aerospace & Defense Practice. Earlier in his career, Jamey served as an Associate Principal in the Industrial, Supply Chain, and Transportation and Logistics Practices at Heidrick & Struggles.
Before embarking on his career in executive search, Jamey was a consultant with The Boston Consulting Group in Dallas, where he worked on a wide variety of projects with clients in the aerospace and defense, consumer finance, telecommunications, oil and gas, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, and education industries.
Jamey is a proud member of the Class of 1993. He entered the Naval Academy from Mediapolis, IA where was recruited to the varsity wrestling team by Coach Reg Wicks who had also previously coached his dad as a graduate assistant at Mankato State University. He went on to be a three-year letter winner, an EIWA champion and runner-up, and a two-time qualifier for the NCAA Division I Championships where he was an Honorable Mention All-American his junior year. He was also honored to be chosen by his teammates as the team captain during his senior year and was selected as a Second Team Academic All-American. After graduating with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering, he graduated from BUD/S Class 191 and served for over nine years on active duty as a SEAL Officer.
After his separation from active duty service, he earned an MBA from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business. He and his wife Angie are the proud parents of their son Connor and daughter Payton, and they reside in Frisco, TX.
