History & Traditions
Preserving memories and fostering traditions of the alma mater is integral to the mission of the U.S. Naval Academy Alumni Association & Foundation and imperative as we support the Naval Academy in preparing young men and women to become tomorrow's leaders.
RADM Edward Simpson, USN, from the Class of 1846, was the first president of the U.S. Naval Academy Graduates' Association. He believed that the formation of the Association was to promote positive social connections and experiences among its members as well as to recall our Naval Academy memories. That is what we strive to do today for our alumni community members through our events, reunions, and services.
