USNA ALUMNI ASSOCIATION:
PHILADELPHIA CHAPTER
SPPA maintains a good working relationship with
the Yard’s Alumni Association, in general, and the local Philadelphia Chapter, in particular. Members of both Organizations support the
various the Activities that are sponsored by each other.
PHILADELPHIA ALUMNI
ASSOCIATION
The Mission of the Philadelphia Chapter of the Yard’s Alumni Association is 2-Fold:
First -- Initiate and sponsor Activities, which will perpetuate the History, Traditions, Memories, and Growth of the Naval Academy and bind Alumni together in the support of the highest Ideas of Command, Citizenship, and Government.
Second -- Seek out, inform, encourage, and assist outstanding, qualified young Men and Women to pursue Careers as Officers in the US Navy and US Marine Corps through the Naval Academy.
Throughout
the Year, the Philadelphia Chapter offers a variety
of worthwhile Activities for our Alumni and their Families. A partial listing of these Events sponsored by the Philadelphia Chapter,
or Groups, affiliated with the Yard’s
Alumni Association, are listed on the chapter’s web site. http://www.usna.com/Chapters/US/PA/Philadelphia
One Function that is supported by both SPPA and the Philadelphia
Chapter is the Alumni Association’s
Annual Awards and Parents Recognition Night, which are normally
held in May. At this function, FIRSTIE Parents from the surrounding Area that is served
by the USNA Alumni Association,
